Cyrillic basic construction
Let’s start with the basis of each letter—its skeleton. These samples were created for educational purposes. They illustrate the basic difference in the skeletons of the Cyrillic Roman, Italic and Script. While in Cyrillic Roman it may seem that uppercase and lowercase characters are very similar, Cyrillic lowercase Italic and script constructions are quite different. The difference between the Italic and Script forms is particularly interesting for understanding the origin of the language specific forms.
The samples were created with the help of Irina Smirnova’s confident hand.
You can download a pdf of these samples here.
